education
Nek'il Kuxtal's kindergarten pedagogy invites children to experience the magic of childhood. Education is based on the natural development of the child during these essential foundational years. From birth to approximately 6-7 years of age, children are even more connected to the etheric and imaginative world. This is the time for children's creativity and imagination to develop as more neurological pathways are created than at any other time in their lives.

Through free play and the arts, children are inspired to create. Through activities, using materials that connect children to their essential nature, children enjoy molding with clay and beeswax, painting and gardening. They use wool to make dolls and figures with which they tell stories. Unlike many schools, the materials used within Waldorf education are simple, so there is room for the children to put their own imagination into the space. Simple wooden blocks become a pirate ship and colorful silk scarves become the water beneath them.
We provide an environment with the space and freedom that all children need for their attention to grow and deepen and their individuality to flourish. Children are provided with a loving and nurturing environment that allows them to develop not only their minds, but also their hearts and physical bodies. They grow up knowing that the world is a beautiful and safe place and this allows their authentic inner self to flourish in this world as they grow.
Waldorf education, based on the life work of Rudolf Steiner, nurtures children's innate moral strength and facilitates free and independent thinking, thus encouraging self-discovery. In a Waldorf school, teachers recognize the child's intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual capacities. Artistic, cognitive and practical lessons nurture the potential and uniqueness of each child.
